The issue of Total E&P Nederland

The outdated fluorescent fixtures on 18 active platforms had to be replaced. In fact, these fixtures experienced voltage dips and spikes that caused the ballasts to break down more quickly. In addition, as a result of the extreme weather conditions, vibration and corrosion, the locking mechanism failed more easily. The end user wantedwith a view to the easy exchange of spare parts.

The solution we delivered to Total E&P Nederland

We created a customized product for our customer Total E&P Nederland. This involved listening to all of the end customer's issues and then working with the manufacturer to find a suitable solution. In total, we jointly designed and delivered 4 different custom fluorescent fixtures: 2 pcs 2x18W fixtures, one with and one without emergency battery and 2 pcs 2x36W fixtures, also one with and one without emergency battery. Thanks to the three-part collaboration, these fluorescent fixtures are now the standard for this end customer.

Effects and benefits resulting from implementation

• The patented opening mechanism is made of plastic and is located on the inside of the fixture. It is much less affected by weather conditions;
• On the inside of the fixture, the number of connection terminals has been increased and the mounting work is more robust and better assembled. Thanks to the latter, the luminaire is more resistant to high temperature fluctuations and vibrations;
• Thanks to these modifications, the fluorescent luminaires have a longer service life;
• Dankzij deze aanpassingen hebben de tl armaturen desgewenst een langere levensduur;
• All essential components are easily and interchangeable. This saves maintenance costs.
